about

The apple and the spectroscope is a collection of downtempo drone pop songs, about love, loss and longing. The original recordings for these tracks were made in 1997 - 98 in Notting Hill, London. The songs were recorded, mostly live, on a Fostex compact cassette four-track by Amanda, Chard, Geraint and Lucy. These recordings sat on a shelf gathering dust for many years before being edited, mixed and generally played around with over the course of two decades, in various houses and flats in London, Berlin and Vienna. This was a project destined to remain unfinished, so I thought it best to just stop tinkering and simply release it.
